Movies
I have produced, filmed, edited and made the music to the following films.
The amateur movies do not cover everything or with such a precision that can
be obtained in (professional) literature. If you're looking for expert knowledge
in survival and Bushcraft, I recommend a good book and you can find some at
survival.michelblomgren.com/literature.html.
Of course I'm not perfectly pleased with the result of the movies, you figure
out a lot of stuff you've missed afterwards - but I guess that's the case with
everything.
In order to play the movies you need
XviD,
DivX (I prefer XviD) or a
specialized DivX player like VLC media player
(then you do not need to download XviD or DivX). All movies are
zipped and the zip files contains an AVI file and English subtitle
files. The speech is in Swedish, but English subtitles are available.
Click here for info on how to use the subtitle files.
Download XviD-1.1.0-30122005.exe (only Windows users),
the default settings during the installation should be good for most people. I strongly recommend
MPlayer for Linux and *BSD users.

SURVIVAL: Episode 2 - Starvation
If it's something I maintain to that one can do without in a typical survival
situation (shorter than a couple of weeks), it's food. In this episode I get
out in nature to starve for one day while I also present my gear in (too much)
detail. I also brought a blood glucose meter to measure my blood sugar level.
It's revealed that spruce needle tea contains some amount of sugar (although
small).
For more in-depth information about human's need of food, take a look at survival.michelblomgren.com/food.
I have also conducted a more "clinical" study about starvation.

SURVIVAL: Episode 5 - Survival and Abseiling
Me and Johan Forsberg from Nordic Bushcraft
starve in the forest during a weekend while attempting to move cross the
terrain and abseil/rappel down mountain cliffs. It was rainy and Johan didn't
bring a sleeping bag or a proper shelter. We brought very little food, but I
still enjoyed the comfort of a bivybag, a sleeping bag, and a sleeping mat
which made the night comfortable.

Using the English subtitles
In order to use the subtitle files (.srt) you need a media player capable of
playing SubViewer (.srt) subtitle files. I can recommend
VLC media player
(multi-platform, Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, etc.) - it's open source, free, and
state-of-the-art - the way software should be.
If you have both the .srt file and the .avi file in the same directory, VLC
automatically starts playing with subtitles. Just drag and drop the AVI file on
VLC or choose File and Quick open file....
If you are interested in translating the subtitle file into another language
than English you can easily edit the .srt file in a text editor. Please contact
me if you are interested in distributing translated subtitles.
